For Courtney Lenaburg
Colonial Bank

Colonial Bank has established a donation account for Courtney Lenaburg. Courtney is 15 years old and may not live through the year. She started having life-threatening seizures at the age of 5 weeks. No medical professionals could diagnose her condition but she wasn't expected to live beyond 3 years of age. The doctors are amazed that she has survived this long. Courtney continues to deteriorate daily, sometimes having as many as 4 or 5 seizures in a 24-hour period.  Because of the constant care and medical bills Courtney's parents are in need of assistance.  Courtney's family would greatly appreciate any assistance the community can give them at this terrible time.  Donations for Courtney can be sent to:

Production:     The Sound of Music 

Dates:              May 15, 16, and 17, 2008 

Time:               7:30pm, Doors Open at 7:00pm 

Tickets:            Adults - $6.00; Students - $5.00 (Admission price includes dessert and coffee/punch at intermission) 

Ticket Information:  Seats can be reserved over the phone by calling 813-671-5134  ext. 271.  You can make a reservation and pay for tickets at the door.  Groups of 10 of more that make a reservation in advance will receive student price for their entire group.  You may also purchase tickets at the door without a reservation.

South Shore Gallery will be hosting a reception on May 15, 2008 for renowned artist Fred Rothenbush’s painting, “That’s What Heroes Do.”  South Shore Gallery would like to invite the community to the reception to honor our soldiers and veterans, their families and the sacrifices they all make for our country.  The reception will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.  South Shore Gallery is located at 447 Apollo Beach Boulevard in Apollo Beach.  Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available.  The JROTC from East Bay High School will be presenting colors at 6:15 p.m.  DJ Gary will be providing some great music as well.  For more information, contact South Shore Gallery at (813) 645-0483 or visit www.southshoregallery.com.

This Community Announcements page is being offered to better serve Chamber members and the public.  Its intent is to allow members and non-members to submit announcements of important non-Chamber events that may be of interest to everyone.  Events should:



Take place in the SouthShore area.
Be of a charitable or community service nature.
Have no political theme, purpose, or component.

Announcements of those events should:



Be brief.
Include contact information for questions from the public.
Clearly state the charity/cause benefiting from the event or fundraiser.

To have an event listed here email your one-paragraph announcement to the Chamber office at abeachcham@verizon.net.  We’ll post your event as quickly as we can.  The Apollo Beach Chamber of Commerce does reserve the right to edit or refuse listing of events here based on decisions of our Editorial Committee.
