winter home (normally from
mid-November to early April) for
significant numbers of the
elusive and endangered manatee,
or sea cow, which migrate to the
warm waters around the cooling
water outflow from the Tampa
Electric Company facility, where
you will find both a manatee
viewing center and nature trail.

year the Apollo Beach Chamber of
Commerce hosts the nationally
recognized 'Manatee Arts
Festival'. The 2-day event is a
juried fine arts and crafts show
that draws exhibitors and
spectators from all around the
nation.
